Learning from Disaster
British Transport Police commissioned Servoca in 2006 to produce a national guide for investigators dealing with fatal disasters, where offences such as corporate manslaughter may have been committed.
Work on the manual began with Servoca consultants, many of whom have been involved in investigating major disasters such as the Paddington, Selby and Clapham rail crashes, interviewing key investigators involved in high profile disasters to draw together learning and best practice.
The manual will help police forces and other agencies deal with similar incidents in the future and will become an ACPO document owned by the Homicide Working Group. |
